Emilie believes there is no “one size fits all” in counseling / therapy. Therefore, Emilie utilizes an integrated approach to services provided to clients. Emilie’s foundational belief is rooted in recognizing the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Where one area may experience dis-ease, another area is likely to experience disease as well. Emilie believes in providing a safe non-judgement space where one may experience empathy and compassion.
Within the integrated approach, Emilie may utilize modalities/techniques such as: DBT, CBT, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Stress Reduction, Family Systems, Insight-Oriented Psychotherapy, Feminist Therapy, Empowerment Counseling, Education, Clinical Interviewing, Problem-Solving / Solution-Focused, Reality Therapy, Mood/Food Diaries, Bibliotherapy, Mindfulness, Experiential Therapy, Existential Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and Holistic Psychotherapy / Counseling.
Emilie believes in the power of merging eastern and western philosophies when working with the whole person. Therefore, it may not be uncommon for Emilie to introduce alternative methods to increase overall wellness. This may include, but is not limited to: sound healing, exercise, meditation, yoga, energy healing, aromatherapies, light therapy, mindful eating/drinking, and connecting to nature.
When Emilie is not providing counseling / therapeutic services to clients she enjoys time with her family as well as alone, practicing self-care, reading, and traveling. Emilie has a free spirit, loves to learn about cultures, experience new foods, is a life-long learner, and maintains an open mind. Emilie also likes to explore entrepreneurial opportunities and how she can integrate her passion for empowering and inspiring groups of people most effectively. She has done this through workshops, writings, and speaking engagements
